The experience in the UK was overwhelming. There was a lot to look forward to and a lot to learn from. I however had a keen interest in retailers offering branded apparels as I wanted to establish a business in fashion industry back in Pakistan. Once I had completed my bachelors degree, I opted for a masters programme and got admission in MSc Marketing. That further enhanced my qualification and also gave me more time to learn as much as I could from the UK.

Deciding to go for a degree in a foreign institute has been the turning point of my career. I wanted to acquire knowledge and the skill to successfully manage a business which eventually led to the field of business studies in Northumbria University. Newcastle Business School did not disappoint me and very soon I realized that the education system over here forces you to work hard. It was not easy but I allocated a lot of time to my studies and emerged as a successful graduate. The studies had a practical approach rather than theoretical and from that I learned a lot.

Sikandar MuftiI knew that I wanted to go abroad after completing my HND but I had no idea which place or institute to select. I visited CONFED and went over many options however; it was the University of Hertfordshire that appealed the most to me. During my time in England, I travelled a lot and was able to see a good part of England. But then again, studying abroad is not just about travelling and exploring, the institute you select has a great impact on your experience as well. The classes at Hertfordshire University were challenging yet very interesting. The teachers were very kind and they were always there to give their undivided attention. The University itself is amazing and that’s exactly why I chose to do my MSc Marketing from the same University. The 2 years that I spent at University of Hertfordshire helped me grow faster. On my return to Pakistan I was offered a job at Al Baraka Bank (Pakistan) Limited, Head office Karachi. I am now, one of the 3 key players who are taking care of the international brand i.e. Al Baraka Banking Group (ABG). In the end, what matters is, that I am satisfied with the decisions I took during this time.

Studying abroad is not just about travelling and exploring, the institute you select has a great impact on your experience as well. The classes at Hertfordshire University were challenging yet very interesting. The teachers were very kind and they were always there to give their undivided attention.
